As South Africa’s first and only fashion week dedicated to kids’ wear, Africa Kids Fashion Week is gearing up to showcase some of the country’s most creative designs for children. The theme for this year is sustainable fashion. At AKFW, we believe sustainable fashion has a key role to play in supporting and encouraging a green economy. Therefore, all our designers will be tasked with using recycled material as they showcase their latest spring collection at Africa Kids Fashion Week 2020.While it is important to raise awareness about global warming, AKFW is about creating a platform for emerging as well as established brands of kids’ wear, to come and show off their creations to buyers (both traditional and professional) as well as influencers, media and VIPs. Africa Kids Fashion Week aims to become a big game player in the African fashion industry.
Hours Of Fun
MEET OUR EXCEPTIONALLY TALENTED TEAM
I can sing and speak a lot, like my daughter. I can be reserved like my teenage sons. I don’t dance (anymore) like they do. At AKFW they call me the managing director. This means I can be the storm and the calm after it. They will tell you I handle things calmly and firmly. They have to. They have very little choice but to be nice to me.
Quiet? Definitely! However, don’t let my silence fool you. I might be the youngest of the group but I bring a great flair of creativity that you see at AKFW. My job title is graphic designer.
What? You don’t know me? Darlings, I have only been a TV presenter for many years. The tabloid covers know me all too well. If you missed it, go and follow my social media immediately as your life’s not complete without me in it. Fashion is what I live for. Hence my title as technical fashion advisor.
Some call me sunshine. Others call me tsunami. I like to think both are spot on. I am that kind of girl that will burst out laughing over something funny that happened the previous day. I am sweet but I mean business. Africa Kids Fashion Week is my home. Design is my game. I dabble in a few other things at AKFW just to show off my other talents.
